Frequently Asked Questions

HOW DO I PROVIDE WORKSAMPLES?
Using the Twindly Bridge 4Cs course level artifact list, upload through your ParentVUE portal, just like you would your grades.
Who is required to take the 4cs?
Students are required to take 2-years worth of 4Cs courses. You and your child may choose which years those are completed. For your first year enrolled in the 4Cs, complete the "course 1" artifact list. For your second year enrolled in the 4Cs, complete the "course 2" artifact list.

The 4Cs is a graduation requirement in the Mat-Su Borough School District.
I need more information about the PSAT and SAT.
Talk with your advisor about your child's plans for post-secondary life and if that includes going to college. If so, the SAT is a test colleges use to make admissions decisions. All PSAT tests (PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT10, and PSAT 8/9) are practice opportunities for the SAT.

HOW MANY CREDITS IS THE 4CS WORTH?
Each semester, the 4Cs is worth .25 credits or .50 credits each year. By the end of senior year, each student needs to have earned 1.0 credit for the 4Cs courses.
HOW SHOULD MY STUDENT ACCOMPLISH THE PAPER REQUIREMENT?
Ideally, your child will already be completing this task in another course. For example, your child may write a research paper for their English class with a social studies or science topic. This could be submitted as the required artifact. Maybe your child completed a science experiment this year. If they did not write a report on their research and experiment, have them write a report.
You may also consider having your child revise and edit a paper they wrote previously in the same school year to meet the "evidence-based" requirement.
how does this course benefit my child?
This course is designed to both support students in understanding graduation requirements and getting the support they need to graduate with a diploma in four years. Additionally, this course includes several activities to support post-secondary education and living by equipping students with the knowledge to earn scholarships, jobs, and develop real-world skills they need after high school. Ultimately, your child will get out of this class whatever they put into it and you are there to guide the way.
