Williamsburg Academy
All of our courses are online, although students complete hands-on projects and assignments. Students participate from home or any internet connection. We have live courses where mentors and students can see, hear, and share content with each other. We also have self-paced courses where students can study and learn virtually at any time on any day.
We offer all courses required for regular graduation. Our programs include Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Writing, Fine Arts, PE, etc. We also offer an extremely popular sequence of proprietary leadership courses. Please see our Curriculum page for more details.

Many of our courses are offered as both an Honors and Classics version. Students attend the same live class sessions, but students in Honors courses have roughly 30% more and/or more difficult readings and assignments in Canvas than students in Classic courses, taking them deeper into the subject.
Students can customize their course load from one class up to a full-time graduation track. Completing an online Williamsburg course is an accomplishment, and a diploma from Williamsburg is a symbol of many hours of study, service and creative engagement.

Testing

SAT
College Board created the PSAT (Preliminary SAT) and the SAT (Student’s Academic Skills) as an entrance exam that is accepted by most colleges and universities to use in their admissions decisions.  The PSAT has been expanded to offer different tests for different grade levels that offers real practice before the SAT.

Registration dates for the 2024-2025 school year are TBA. Twindly Bridge is not offering on-site testing this year. Please reach out to your nearest high school for dates and registration information.

There are several nationwide SAT test dates outside of the grade-bands offered by the district (Check out their dates and deadlines here). This cost may be covered by your allotment. For questions about the SAT/PSAT, please contact College Board directly.

ACT
The ACT (American College Testing) is a paper-pencil and multiple-choice standardized test that colleges and universities use for admissions decisions. Achieving high scores on the ACT grants access to scholarships, grants, and special honors recognition for colleges.  The ACT is recommended for students in 11th and 12th grade.

Students with disabilities may request accommodations through ACT. (Click here for more information on access) Please reach out to your 504 or IEP case manager for assistance with this.
