What are related services?
Related services in special education are services that a student needs to benefit from specially designed instruction when eligible for special education. MSBSD coordinates the related services through special education. These include things like speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and adapted physical education.
Speech-Language ServicesTwindly Bridge currently provides speech-language therapy and evaluation services using a live tele-practice model. Students participate in real-time, research-based principles for interactive speech and language sessions via computer or tablet and secure video platform. Since Twindly Bridge Charter is a homeschool model, the therapist and families have the opportunity to collaborate and actively engage in supporting the learner’s communication!
Are you concerned about your child's speech or language skills? Are they impacting your child's education? Speak with your advisor about how the school district can support you. We recommend starting with a screening, provided by our speech-language pathologist, who can determine whether or not a full special education evaluation may be warranted to address your child's speech and/or language concerns. If you'd like to request a communication screening, fill out the form below or speak with your advisor to learn more. For information on potential signs of communication difficulties, click here. |
Occupational Therapy Services Twindly Bridge currently provides occupational therapy and evaluation services using a live tele-health model. Students participate in real-time occupational therapy activities directed by a certified occupational therapist. Other Related Services (PT, Adapted PE, Vision, Hearing)
Twindly Bridge works with your neighborhood school to access services through the neighborhood therapist in these areas. The special education IEP team makes those decisions.
