The Time4Learning curriculum gives preschool to twelfth graders who are homeschooled the independence they crave, as they progress at their own pace. Lessons are presented at the student’s pace by an automated system. And because very little parental assistance is required, our curriculum works great if you’re homeschooling more than one child.
The program also helps kids who are homeschooled advance, giving them the option to redo lessons and retake tests and quizzes by teaching with individualized learning paths that ensure skill mastery. To keep things interesting, Time4Learning provides printable worksheets for many activities to give students the option to do work on paper away from the computer. View the grade by grade curriculum overview to see what’s available and aligns to homeschool curriculum goals.

Mathematics
Never again hear the question which many math students have: "When are we ever gonna use this stuff?" or "Math is boring!"
No other textbooks are like these. Each text is written in the style of a novel with a humorous story line. Each section tells part of the life of Fred Gauss and how, in the course of his life, he encounters the need for the math and then learns the methods. Tons of solved examples. Each hardcover textbook contains ALL of the material – more than most instructors cover in traditional classroom settings. Includes tons of proofs.
Written by Dr. Stanley Schmidt with the intent to make math come alive with lots of humour, clear explanations, and silly illustrations that stick in the mind. The student will learn to think mathematically.
Completion of this series prepares student for third year college math.
IMPORTANT NOTE: These books are designed to make your child THINK! and to learn on their own. It does not give step-by-step directions and answers to every question. They learn to apply to current questions the concepts previously taught. Upon completion they will understand how math works, why it works, and how to apply it. They will know the formulas and how to apply them in real-life situations, not just situations created for a textbook. This program relies heavily on reading comprehension and thinking, not rote spoon-fed learning that is quickly forgotten. Parents can learn these novel methods along with the student, but should not try to integrate the traditional rote/memorization methods.

Math-U-See is designed to teach students specific skills that build as the student progresses. This systematic and cumulative approach uses a definite, logical sequence of concept instruction. The Math-U-See system is structured with step-by-step procedures for introducing, reviewing, practicing, and mastering concepts. Each lesson teaches using multi-sensory tools such as videos, manipulatives, and other resources, designed to appeal to any type of learner. With these resources, we are able to adapt to a variety of homeschool styles.
Math-U-See’s unique instructional approach makes it easier for instructors (parents, teachers, and tutors) to help students progress in mastering fundamental math skills and concepts.
Math-U-See’s simple but powerful set of colorful manipulatives allows abstract math concepts to be represented in clear, relatable ways. These manipulatives, combined with distinctive strategies presented through videos, textbooks, practice, systematic review, and assessments, guide students from concept to concept as they build a solid understanding of mathematics. Because the focus is on understanding math concepts, the curriculum is not organized traditionally by grades; rather, Math-U-See is a skills-based program that focuses on student mastery of a concept before progressing to the next concept.
Math-U-See’s unique program contains the following:
1. Colorful manipulatives are used to teach mathematical concepts from kindergarten into high school. Not only are the manipulatives highly effective at teaching math concepts, but they are also fun for students to use.
2. Instructional videos and textbooks show the instructor how to use the manipulatives to teach math concepts. This empowers the instructor and allows for more time to work with the student. The videos can also be used for student instruction and review of previous concepts.
3. Student workbooks focus on practicing and systematically reviewing concepts and tests that assess student progress. Clean, uncluttered layouts keep students focused without wasting time.

Why choose the Teaching Textbook™ series over another homeschool math program?
There are lots of reasons, but here are the top 3.
First, because Teaching Textbooks™ were designed specifically for independent learners, they simply have more teaching/explanation than any other product on the market. We realized that independent learners needed a product that contains the maximum amount of teaching, so a Teaching Textbook™, with its approximately 700 pages of text and 120-160 hours of teacher instruction, is both a teacher and a textbook combined into one. And the teaching isn't just abstract lectures either. There are also down-to-earth, audiovisual step-by-step explanations for every single one of the almost 3,500 problems in the book. Using a Teaching Textbook™ is like having a friendly tutor available at the push of a button, but for only a fraction of the cost! Other products claim that they can be used without the assistance of a teacher, and this may or may not be true. But shouldn’t a truly ideal product for independent learners contain step-by-step teacher explanations for all those times when you might get stumped? We think so.
Second, given the amount of teaching that the series offers and the importance of junior high and high school math in college courses and on the job, our program represents an incredible value. For example, the Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus Teaching Textbooks™ contain far more multimedia teaching than the nearest competitors’ products.
Third, because the Teaching Textbook™ series was designed for independent learners, it introduces proper terminology only after first presenting the underlying concept in plain language. Of course, the series includes all the terms that students need to know for important standardized tests such as the SAT and ACT, but our textbooks do not bog the reader down in highly technical language until students are ready to digest it.

This unique, award-winning, hands-on program de-emphasizes counting, uses visualization of quantities, and provides strategies and visual pictures for learning the facts. Understanding and problem solving are emphasized throughout the curriculum.
The primary learning tool is the AL Abacus, a specially designed two-sided abacus that is both kinesthetic and visual. The AL Abacus is grouped in fives and tens for quick recognition of quantities. The second side of the AL Abacus teaches place value to the thousands. Children develop visual strategies as they use this manipulative.
Practice is provided with math card games, minimizing review worksheets and eliminating stressful flash cards. These games provide interesting and varied repetition that is needed for the automatic responses to the facts. More importantly, these games provide an application for new information and create hours of fun learning math facts and concepts.
Twenty one additional materials are used in the RightStart™ program. This allows the child to approach topics in a variety of ways, creating understanding and building critical connections.
The RightStart™ Mathematics homeschool program is set up with levels, rather than grades, so that your child can begin at the proper level and advance at their own pace. Placement testing is available here. Objectives, Table of Contents and sample lessons can reviewed here.
The RightStart™ Mathematics program is based on Dr. Cotter’s research and has been used in a recent study in Finland. Do you want to know what others are saying about the curriculum? We have forums, curriculum reviews, and testimonials for your review.
The elementary and intermediate program lessons guide the teacher day-by-day and year-by-year, helping children understand, apply, and enjoy mathematics.

- Teach your students the alphabet in TWO WEEKS! Faster than you ever expected your students will be reading, spelling and writing!
- The Zoo-phonics® Multisensory Language Arts Program is a kinesthetic, multi-modal approach to learning all aspects of language arts, including vocabulary development and articulation, based on phonics and phonemic awareness.
- The principle of Zoo-phonics® maximizes understanding, memory, utilization and transference to all areas of the reading, spelling and writing process in a playful and concrete manner.
- Zoo-phonics® is a method developed to make children strong readers and spellers using a “phono” (hearing), “oral” (speaking), “visual” (seeing), “kinesthetic” (moving), and tactile (touching)—whole brain approach. Students actually learn the sounds of the alphabet and advanced phonemic concepts through an easily understood, concrete method of presentation.
- Zoo-phonics® uses animals drawn in the shapes of the letters for ease in memory. A related body movement is given for each letter. This concrete approach cements the sounds to the shapes of the letters. Lowercase letters and their sounds are taught first (needed 95% of the time in text), capital letters and letter names are taught later.
- Zoo-phonics® also provides a springboard for all other academia such as math, art, music, cooking/nutrition, social studies, science, grooming, physical education and sensory/drama.
- Every aspect of the program has been field-tested and found to be effective. Educational research repeatedly supports the focus of phonics in early reading programs, as well as the educational benefits of pictorial mnemonics and kinesthetic approaches to learning that are unique to Zoo-phonics®.
- Currently Zoo-phonics® is used throughout the United States and internationally as a highly effective language arts program.
