![]() Seeds of Change in Anchorage is a worthwhile day trip, ideal for kids in 3rd - 12th. It is an indoor hydroponic farm that is maintained, under supervision, by Anchorage youth. Year-round, but especially in winter, this place is a haven of lush greens, herbs, and veggies grown using state-of-the-art methods that are then sold locally. Proceeds benefit Anchorage Community Mental Health Services They offer free tours an even a little quiz (and often a free bag of produce!) at the end. ![]() This is meant to be a place to share information and tips about homeschooling in Alaska. While I am not an expert when it comes to educating children, I do have experiences from teaching over twenty years in public education and having raised two beautiful yet challenging girls. I hope to be able to add a little insight into the education process, and maybe provide a couple tips to help you along the way. I look forward to your comments and feedback. If you have ideas or thought you would like to share, please forward them to me so that I may add them to the blog. |
